Description

HKS, which is well versed in TOTAL tuning, proposes the “LA Clutch” clutch system for street and sports driving. In order to adapt to the expected situations for each vehicle model, we carefully considered the corresponding torque, pedal force, and half-clutch range.

Although it is compatible with 700PS, the basic concept remains the same, and the “MG composite disc” that thoroughly suppresses the occurrence of judder is adopted, achieving starting operability that is comparable to that of the genuine product and a transmission torque capacity that exceeds that of metal systems. In addition, the adoption of a disc damper prevents abnormal noise from the transmission and protects the drive system by absorbing shock torque. In addition, a “pivot ring” is adopted for the pressure plate as a unique mechanism for the twin. A half-clutch characteristic that is unusual for a twin is realized.

(1) Adopts a diaphragm spring with a lightweight cover and special characteristics.

Although the heavy pedal force of a high-capacity clutch system is a concern, we have thoroughly focused on the characteristics of the diaphragm spring to achieve a moderate pedal force. Despite the firm pedal response, it is easier to handle than you would imagine, and you can enjoy a stress-free pedal feel from city driving to circuit driving. The cover is made of forged aluminum with high rigidity and low inertia.

(2) 8.5-inch “MG composite disc” with damper

A newly developed 8.5-inch disc is used to achieve high capacity. The damper suppresses gear noise generated during driving and protects the transmission from impact torque. It has a stable friction coefficient and is easy to handle, so there is no judder when starting.

In addition, the independent type makes it lightweight and highly rigid. It contributes to reliable disengagement without sacrificing the shift feel.

(3) “Lifting plate” for reliable disengagement and correction of disc wear balance

The reaction force of the lifting plates attached to both sides of the center plate keeps the center plate in a neutral position when the clutch is disengaged. This improves the life of the disc and reduces the mechanical noise unique to multi-plates.

(4) “Pivot ring” for excellent half-clutch performance

The ring-shaped low-rigidity spring (pivot ring) on ​​the pressure plate expands the half-clutch zone. This eliminates the severe clutch engagement that comes with reinforced clutches. It allows for starting operability that is on par with the original.

(5) Lightweight flywheel: the key to improved response

Weight reduction is performed appropriately for each vehicle model, eliminating the jerky feeling that is common with moderately lightweight flywheels, while contributing to improved response. Combined with the adoption of a round drive boss, it provides optimal inertia performance. In addition, it is lighter than the original when compared with the entire clutch kit.

â– Precautions for use
The acceptable range is the range of engine torque that can be used as long as the clutch is not overheated by intentional half-clutch, etc.
The conditional acceptable range is the range in which slippage can occur due to rough handling, kickback from the tires, and distortion of each part during use.
The acceptable limit is the range in which slippage occurs when meeting at high revolutions.
The physical limit is the point at which slippage occurs just by stepping on the accelerator while driving.
