SFRD (Sensitive Frequency Response Damper)

Without relying on electronic control, the damping force can be varied, achieving a balance between ride comfort and handling stability in various situations. SFRD automatically and continuously changes the damping force based on the damper’s operating frequency, taking into account input from the road surface, changes in vehicle speed, and steering input. This allows for soft absorption of input from rough or uneven road surfaces, while maintaining tenacity during cornering and sporty driving, resulting in nimble handling. While it is usually nearly impossible to achieve a balance between the seemingly contradictory characteristics of “suppleness” and “sportiness,” SFRD manages to bring them together. The SARD x SHOWA EVOLUTION KIWAMI responds faithfully to the driver’s breathing, allowing for a driving experience that feels like one with the car.
