Description

The GR Yaris has a high-performance PU in a compact body. However, the more aggressive the driving, the more troublesome the heat generated by the turbo engine becomes.

Kansai has prepared a cooling engine hood with ducts in the center and on both sides to exhaust the engine room’s hot air. This functional beauty item provides high-level heat dissipation performance required for sports driving and advanced turbo tuning while also giving the car a stylish face with a sense of speed.

Each duct, which also considers compatibility with the press lines, generates negative pressure using the airflow generated at the top of the bonnet while driving, enhancing the effect of drawing out hot air from the engine room.

In rainy weather, a rain cover that can be easily removed and attached is included behind the duct to prevent water from entering the engine room. In addition, the back of the bonnet has a unique shape to increase its strength.

A professional driver conducted a circuit driving test. The temperature in the engine room was compared with and without the rain guard under the same conditions on the same day. A temperature drop of about 7°C was confirmed behind the center duct.
