■Brake rotor As a countermeasure to heat cracks that could not be avoided with conventional additional drilling for mass-produced products, Spoon participated from the design stage and created a flap-type casting mold. We reflected the reality of parallelism and perpendicularity in the product while obtaining ideal strength. By averaging the ideal carbon content of the material, we were able to narrow the range of specific gravity values, and the individual differences between rotors were brought to a certain level. By precisely placing the casting core in the hole position, we were able to achieve revolutionary strength and cooling performance. During hard braking, the rotor cools down when it enters the caliper (intervention side), and has a high temperature distribution when it exits (intervention side). If this is repeated, the “distortion” that occurs on the rotor surface will be transmitted to the hub, causing “vibration.” In addition, the brake feel becomes spongy as the deflection pushes the pads apart. With Spoon, we not only took measures against hard braking, but also improved the rotational balance, overall strength, etc. far more than the stock model, aiming for a rich ride feel even when driven normally.
