Appropriate oil temperature control is necessary to enjoy driving

An excessive rise in oil temperature causes the breakdown of the oil components, which reduces the important performance of lubricating, cooling, and cleaning the inside of the engine. The HKS oil cooler stabilizes the oil temperature with its excellent cooling effect and incorporates performance that maximizes the engine output in its basic design.

General-purpose oil cooler kit

Two types are set: R (replacement) type, which moves the oil filter, and S (sandwich) type, which sandwiches the attachment between the oil filters.
■ The thermostat’s function controls the oil temperature.
Since the HKS oil cooler uses a core with an excellent cooling effect, it is equipped with a thermostat to prevent engine oil viscosity resistance increase due to overcooling. (Excluding some models).
This thermostat has a good response to temperature changes and has a relief function. When the oil exceeds the set temperature of the thermostat, it flows to the core and is cooled. If it is lower than that, the oil temperature suitable for the engine is maintained by bypassing the core.

■ Combining a relief function with a thermostat, consideration is also given to safety measures in the event of an emergency.
When the oil pressure rises abnormally due to crushing of the core, clogging of the line, etc., the oil is relieved from the thermostat, bypassing the core, protecting the engine, and preventing damage to the line.

■Stainless steel mesh hose is used for the oil line, emphasizing durability.
The stainless steel mesh hose used in the kit can be cut to the appropriate length according to the vehicle model and layout to be installed.

S-TYPE

Precautions when installing the general-purpose oil cooler kit

There is a car model that does not fit depending on the car model.
Before purchasing, please check the fitment of the vehicle model to be installed according to the following items.
1. Oil filter mounting screw size
Can be attached to 3/4-16UNF or M20×P=1.5.

2. Attachment mounting part

The following clearance is required for the attachment mounting part of the engine block. (Unit: mm)

3. Oil filter

The mounting screw should not protrude from the O-ring of the genuine filter.
