Description
The “ultimate multi-performer” has the pleasure of handling at will, the depth of its ability to adapt to everything from circuits to winding roads and the refined driving comfort.
- By adopting the newly developed damper fluid “SRF” and high-strength spring “LVS” exclusively for HIPERMAX R, we have achieved an unprecedented level of both running and ride comfort.
- Respecting the original character of the GR86, we created a setting that allows you to enjoy the fun of controlling the car by allowing it to move like a genuine FR even when equipped with high-grip tires.
- By actively utilizing the bump rubber that HKS has researched over many years, it also creates a feeling of firmness when cornering. You can stably obtain tire surface pressure without suddenly losing grip.
- Circuit settings were carried out at the Fuji Speedway racing course (ADVAN A052 installed). When driving on the same course, it is recommended that the damping adjustment dials be set at 5 to 10 steps for both the front and rear.
- By using parts with the latest specs, we have realized a 2-year 40,000 km warranty despite being a sports model.

ADVAN A052 235/40R18 Tested at Fuji Speedway racing course.
The GR86 has very good running performance even in its original condition, but when high-grip tires are installed, there is a large amount of roll, making it unsatisfactory for circuit driving.
At HKS, we have respected the original character of the GR86, and even with high-grip tires installed, we have created a setting that allows you to enjoy the fun of controlling the car by allowing it to move like a stock FR model.
You can also check the behavior in track mode, so even circuit beginners can safely enjoy the behavior of FR.
This damper has a deep pocket that will satisfy both circuit beginners and advanced riders aiming for time. You can experience the change in the car’s behavior with just one notch, so I think you’ll be able to enjoy it for a long time with this one.
By actively utilizing the bump rubber that HKS has researched over many years, it also creates a feeling of firmness when cornering. You can obtain stable tire surface pressure without suddenly losing grip.
For users aiming for time on the circuit, the front should be full camber with a toe out of about 0.5-1.0mm, and the rear should have a toe of 0 to 0.5mm in. It is recommended that the dial has 5 to 10 steps in the front and back.
If you feel that the rear stability is lacking, we recommend installing an aftermarket arm that can adjust the rear camber.
